Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class draws you in and makes learning fun. Mr. Parker really takes the advanced material seriously to prepare for the AP exam. Whether you plan on going into psychology or not, it's interesting to learn about the behaviours and mannerisms of the human race. If I can say one thing it would be there was not a boring day in that class!

    Course highlights:

One of the biggest topics we learned about was nature versus nurture. Some believe that you are born to be the way you are, and others believe you are raised to be who you are. Personally I believe, based on what I've learned, that it is a combination of both. Twin studies are a great example if why a combination makes sense. We also learned about the physical part of psychology, like the anatomy of the brain and how it works. We learned that the hypothalamus controls the flight or flight phenomenon, along with hunger and sexual urges. Unlike other typical high school classes, AP Psychology teaches you applicable information that you are more likely to use later in life.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you want to take the class, do it because you want to, that is how you will get the most out of it. Most times when you want to do something, you will try harder. This is not an easy class, so studying is essential. I recommend prereading the chapter, writing good notes, and using flashcards.
