    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it gives you the opportunity to express yourself through writing while also becoming a stronger technical writer. Mrs. Gienapp classroom feels very open to free expression and feels like a no judgement zone; this is something that is appreciated greatly in high school.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was writing my personal essay. It was fun because rather than just coming out and saying what I was talking about, I used an extended metaphor through the whole essay. It was also very productive to have other students read and leave comments on what they enjoyed and what they think could be added or needed work. I learned that constructive criticism is way better than no criticism at all.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Even though the course is fairly easy don't take it lightly. What I mean by this is by the end of the course, the final consists of a binder full of all the work you have completed and a short reflection. If you don't stay caught up on your work as the course progresses, you will soon regret it as you are scrambling to do all the incomplete work of the past during the last days of the course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this class because of the openness and freedom to express yourself through writing. It is amazing the results of how your writing transforms.

    Course highlights:

The transformation of my writing by the beginning of the semester and the end of the semester. Also getting to write about anything and freedom of expression.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to work hard and read your writings when you get the chance. It is awesome to hear feedback and it feels amazing to read your work to others.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Owens prepares you for the expectations of writing in college. I took his Compostion I course in the spring of 2016, and I went on to take a college English course at DMACC and I would be struggling horribly in that course if it weren't for the previous knowledge I gained from Mr. Owens

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was learning in depth the steps of creating a college level essay.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend listening to everything the teacher has to offer because in the long run it will improve your writing immensely.
