    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would personally recommend this class. Not only is it an in-depth course, it is worth 5 college credits per semester. The teacher is great and will be flexible in order to help you succeed. It is a difficult course, but is worth all the hours you put into it. Chem221 is an advanced college level course that requires a bit of out of school time in order to succeed in.

    Course highlights:

The main highlights of the course were the experiments in lab. Every subject or law discussed in lecture was put to the test. Some of these investigations include; lighting chemicals on fire to determine what they are, demonstrating a grade school science project to the class, testing solubility and experimenting with high level chemical reactions. We learned a wide variety of subjects ranging from determining and solving chemical equations to learning the periodic table while determining an elements atomic mass

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

The main thing people need to utilize are the other people in the class. Most of the H.W and online tests are generally done with multiple students. This will allow everyone in the group to earn a substantially higher grade. The other major point of emphasis is putting extra effort into lab reports. these are one of the harder parts of lab. To ensure a good grade, extra time is required. Other than that just take notes and study outside of class.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course are the labs every Tuesday and Thursday. Every concept that is discussed in lecture is tested in the Lab. This a great part of the course because it is interactive. It provides hands on experience for what you are learning. During this class you learn a wide variety of subjects such as; chemical reactions, determining substances based on solubility table/rules, covalent, ionic, and molecular bonds, and balancing chemical equations

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

A huge part of chem221 is utilizing the other people in your class. Almost every assignment and take home test will be done with a group or friends. This will allow do get substantial grades on assignments and quizzes. The other major point of emphasis is to work extremely hard on lab reports. This is one of the harder parts of chemistry. Going the extra mile on lab assignments will help earn a better grade
