Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it gives an in depth of healthcare fields and of the people in them. You are involved in learning about different illnesses and diseases and the people dealing with them while also learning new presentation skills to better your public speaking.

    Course highlights:

I have gained new presentation skills and skills in working with people. While the course can have its moments of not being the most interesting the teacher really tries and bring in people in the community that have worked and do work these healthcare fields so that you can get a sense of what you are wanting to do in life.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering taking this course you need to be interested in healthcare. If you aren't interested in healthcare then you will not be able to keep up any motivation to continue trying your best throughout the course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Through the course of Allied Health Medicine III, we learn hands on medical procedures that will benefit us in our future medical endeavors. Instead of bookwork and paper tests, we are graded on person to procedure contact, meaning that we will perform a medical procedure such as taking vitals, and Mrs. Clements will grade us on our execution of the technique.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course would be studying about CPR and Emergency Medical Services in the case of a trauma. In this 4 week section, we learned how to perform CPR and apply needed medical services exposed in a traumatic event.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

My advice to any student who wishes to take this course would be, try your best and never be afraid to try something new. You will not be successfully in this study unless you participate and are able to act with large groups of people. When you are with groups of people, make sure you speak up and become a leader.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

In this pathway class, we are able to experience different aspects of the medical field. In her pathway, we are graded on our ability to perform medical procedures without breaking our sterile field. You will learn medical terminology, human anatomy, and much more.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this class, for me, was learning how to take each others vital signs. We learned how to take temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure all the while learning how to properly handle a stethoscope and a sphygmomanometer.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

If I could give you any advise for this pathway, I would highly suggest that you keep trying no matter what. So what if you don't go good on a test. Find your mistakes, learn from them, and try again. Never give up on something because it is difficult, prosper through and find a flaw in the system.
