Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Most people tend to think that a Creative Writing course would not be useful in your life beyond high school. On the contrary, this course focused on developing my reading and vocabulary skills that will help you when taking most standardized tests, and some of the writing techniques that will give you a head start in any college English class.

    Course highlights:

When I look back on my time in this class, I remember thoroughly enjoying the experience, as writing gave me an outlet - a way to express my thoughts and emotions in a healthy way, which can be vital as a high school student. I also remember getting to listen to the thoughts and emotions of my peers and having those impact my outlook on life. Overall, Creative Writing not only helped prepare me for the reading and writing approaching in the next few years, but it made me appreciate language and words even more than I had before.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this class, you need to take it seriously. Ask for help when you need it, pay attention to the practice exercises that you'll complete in class, and be open to growing as a writer. Embrace the experience of Creative Writing!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would totally recommend this class for anyone who likes writing, reading, or telling fictional or non-fictional stories. I took this class as a Junior in high school, and I feel like it helped improve my writing and reading skills for my other English, and even non-English, classes.

    Course highlights:

In this class, you learn how to read and write stories, poems, scripts and more. It is a fun way to experiment with new writing styles, and a cool way to put your imagination on paper.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep on task, it'll help incredibly. Get outside of your writing comfort zone, don't be afraid to try new things and explore new possibilities. You can not be embarrassed about what you write.
