Not too easy. Not too difficult.
This is definitely a fun class if you enjoy building and actually applying your electrical and C++ skills in projects. This course did require a significant amount of lab time to complete certain projects, but the work is fun. You get to choose your own mbed project at the end of the year, so if you have an invention in mind, this class allows the platform to get credit for it.
If you've taken a class using the mbed before, then you most likely know almost everything that is taught in this course. 4180 is more about applying that knowledge. The main thing you will get from taking this class is the experience of building with mbed, mastery with C++, and practice with embedded systems.

Advice for students:
Make sure you have good time management skills. DO NOT start projects on the day it is due; you will be very disappointed. There will be 20 students in the lab, and 1-2 TA's, so don't expect to get efficient help on the day the lab is due. The exams are open note/open book, but still study. You have to print out all your notes; I would recommend printing all the old tests.
