Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's a great class to take and I think that students would really get a lot out of it. If you plan on taking Calculus at some point in your life, you definitely need to take this course. I loved my teacher and he was great at explaining the pre calc concepts.

    Course highlights:

I learned enough about pre calc that the transition into AB Calculus AP was actually quite easy. I really enjoyed bringing back geometry. It made me realize how I was applying math to my life. He would make it fun and interactive and I like a lot of kids really liked him as a teacher.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It's not a super easy math course, that's why you normally take it your junior or senior year. Make sure you take lots and lots of notes and actually do your homework. If you do your homework and know you understand it, then you shouldn't have many problems when it actually comes time to take quizzes and tests.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because this course is very fun, being able to solve hard problems is such a great thing. And the sense of achievement made very happy and feel valuable. Knowing the knowledge of Calculus helps me think logically in life. Also, Mrs. Essick is a great math teacher. She is very knowledgeable and patient, and the way she teaches just makes a lot of sense. Another great thing about her is that usually in her class you will get some time left to do your homework or even finish your homework in class which is a great opportunity to review what did you learn in class and ask questions. She also gives you folders to keep all you tests which is great for reviewing before tests.

    Course highlights:

From taking this class, I learn about derivative and basic limits which are very helpful for speed, velocity and distance calculation.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the homework and follow the pace of the class. Sometimes you will be behind and maybe don't understand at all. Don't be afraid, it happens, just try to make yourself focus and do fear to ask the teacher to help. And try not to use the calculator a lot, do the basic math by yourself instead of putting into the calculator. This way not only helps you training your calculate skill, be familiar with numbers, but also helps you fasten your solving speed on tests.
