    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a rigorous course for first year students that thoroughly prepares them for their future courses. Professor Oakes is a tough grader but will absolutely force you to perform at your full potential.

    Course highlights:

My writing skills improved immensely throughout this course. Throughout office hours and writing work shops, I learned how to write in many different formats.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My best advice would be to always seek out the Professor's help. If you do this, it is virtually impossible to do poorly in the course. Professor Oakes loves to see a commitment to learning and if you demonstrate such a commitment she will absolutely assist you in whatever you may need. She wants you to do well and thus will provide all necessary assistance.
