Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

CAD 1 is a great course to learn basic engineering drawing skills. This course also allows you to experiment with online CAD programs like Inventor to create 3D designs on a virtual screen that can be 3D printed! This class was self paced while still maintains structure and in depth lessons.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the CAD 1 class was being able to create a figure skate keychain and 3D print it. Our final project was to create an item of our choice to 3D print. I created a figure skate keychain with my name engraved in it. I learned how to use the fillet and loft tools and how a 3 D printer works.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This course is great for anyone that is looking around, planning for a future career and isn't sure exactly what they want to do. CAD 1 is a basic engineering drafting and drawing class that can help you find your interest in engineering. CAD 2 is also offered to students who find a passion in engineering and wish to continue to expand their skills. Staying on task is very important when taking the course in order to make sure you have time at the end of the semester for your final project. Although there are not many heavy days of intruction those few days are very important to be diligently listening. For in the future during work time the skills that are taught during instruction at every important to finish projects without error.
