Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
I am sincerely hopeful that anybody if they put their mind to it, trig is not your enemy, it would be your friend. Some may not realize this but, trigonometry is applied particularly in every day of their life.
Course highlights:
I have gained how basic sin, cosine and tangent works in a right triangle. Also, how trigonometry is applied on a police car's speedometer and what type of angle is needed to set on the alarm. The conversion of radians to degrees vice versa. Learned about Pythagoras and other mathematicians in the early ages who contributed to math.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
To practice at least what learned everyday to memorize the formula and the style of equations needed to solve on a quiz.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
College algebra is filled with many skill sets that are useful for further courses such as Calculus. College Algebra and many other math courses go hand in hand. However, unless this course is required or you want to pursue a career involving math, this may not be a course you'd want to take.
Course highlights:
We learned how to graph equations and even equalities. We also learned how to use a graphing calculator to calculate certain aspects of an equation and make predictions as well as calculate interest and such
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
If you aren't very good at math, you NEED to ask questions in this class. If you don't you may end up lost and no one wants that. I certainly don't want that for you, your teacher doesn't want that for you, your family and friends don't want that for you and I'm sure that you don't want that for you either
Pretty easy, overall.
Course Overview:
Mrs.Savage understands that most students (honestly, people in general) hate math. She gives tons upon tons of opportunities for any student, no matter of their prior knowledge, to excell in her class. Her teaching method are also phenomenal and she is an overall amazing person.
Course highlights:
I learned many things in trigonometry that I have seen on the SAT. Every time I would look at them and tilt my head to the side because I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the answer was. After taking TWAG I learned how to find missing sides and angles of oblique triangles (non right triangles) I also learned how pilots navigate using a different plane than what we are used to. Not to mention I learned how nurses can calculate certain things in the kidney to find kidney stones. All of this and more was learned but who knew math could be so relevant, right? You'd be surprised
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
Ms.Savage usually lays out the notes for you so all I can really tell you overall about this course is PAY ATTENTION! Those who failed were those who slacked. Also if you don't understand something please ask questions. It's a teacher's job to answer them. Don't them get paid and not complete their job at the end of the day. If you don't understand, they are a resource so USE THEM! All in all its a pretty simple course if you keep in mind what I said
