    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Sometimes in life, your life can get swallowed up by the big picture of history. All the events seam to make your life look small. And although this course does give you a perspective on the timeframe of your life compared to the 10,000 years of human history and achievement, it also lets you see how you fit into the global society that is being developed, and the fabric of time that you are a stitch in. Before this course, I never really understood why history mattered. Now I know that history doesn't just live in the past, we are living it right now.

    Course highlights:

Understanding how the periodization of time smoothly linked to one another was very helpful in really knowing what history is all about. You learn the major themes of each time period, but you also learn how these themes influenced each other. This is what I loved about this class, everything builds upon everything else, and suddenly you are no longer looking at the stones of history, you are seeing the mountain. I learned how the patterns of human nature reveals itself through history, and how humans are always trying to improve, but not always succeeding.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you are not just memorizing the little facts, but really understanding where they came from. This course is a big-picture course. Everything is about the global processes, and how they influenced the events. First try and understand the global processes, and the rest will make more sense.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course only if you really love history. it requires a lot of reading and understand on ones own. It also requires timed essays and quick thinking. You have to be able to pick out certain events in history that pertain to a certain question in a certain time frame. If you're up for the challenge, I would highly recommend this course.

    Course highlights:

Understanding of the history of the world, and greater insight to different cultures. One learns about battles, politics, and religion and how they all come into play.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Start reading the text books now! And memorize dates this is very helpful when a question asks for a certain time period.
