    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Petrozzi only speaks the truth. She helps her students see that truth, not by giving them the answers to these thought provoking questions, but by making you think. Too much in today's world I see students trying to take the easy way out and think as little as possible. I too have found myself foing this recently. But in Ms. Petrozz's class, I find myself really thinking on my own, even if it may be a different idea than others.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this course was reading Crime and Punishment as well as reading A Street Call Named Desire. In this class, I leraned to think for myself and think hard.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take your time writing. Do not try and write a boring five paragraph essay, because that is not what this class is about. Write with strong evidence and support, but write how you really feel.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course to any student who either loves writing or wants to strengthen their skills as a writer. AP Language & Composition is challenging, but the skills you obtain from learning different styles of writing and learning to create a stable argument, far outweighs the cons. The effort that you give in AP Language and Composition will determine how much knowledge and skills you obtain. If you give a substantial amount of effort, this course will help you strengthen your argumentative skills, challenge your previous knowledge and biases, and thoroughly prepare you for the AP exam in May.

    Course highlights:

In the AP Language and Composition course, I learned about rhetorical devices and different strategies that will further and validate your writing. Our class learned how to properly write a synthesis essay, argumentative essay, and an analysis essay. All three forms of essays are essential for success on the AP Lang exam.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Manage your time wisely. Don't be that student who waits until last minute to write an essay that is due the next day. Quality matters. The more time you give yourself to compose an essay, the more effective your writing will be. The primary goal of the AP Lang & Comp course is to help you develop and grow as a writer. Therefore, you must be wiling to grow as a writer by taking your writing seriously and setting aside time to produce effective and quality work.
