Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was one of my favorite classes to take. The teacher, Mrs. Sheckell makes class so exciting with her enthusiasm, personal stories to connect to the information, and her physical hands on activities. She makes the information easy to understand and has no problem going over it numerous times if a student is confused or does not understand. She also provides the class with plenty of outside resources that students can look into to further their knowledge and understand the material better.

    Course highlights:

This course you learn a lot about the different functions of the brain. From the structural makeup to child development AP psychology teaches you what the brain does in different scenarios and how it is effected when you are sleep, have a disorder, are on drugs, trying to memorize things, when using other body parts, when taking test, and more. You will be amazed at how cool and interesting some of the topics are.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give is to do your RON'S as early as possible and study the material at least once a day. In this class you go through the textbook chapter by chapter so your test are over an entire chapter which can be tricky if you didn't prepare well and complete you assignments. Also all of the test are set up AP test style which is also why it is important to review and study your material.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Because is a great experience and it opens doors for a better understanding of how the world works.

    Course highlights:

The highlight for me was the bystander effect because it relates to so many unfortunate and disappointing situations today.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study hard but have fun! learning examples along with definitions is very helpful because it gives you a different view of the concept.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course connects concepts you learn in anatomy with the behaviors of the human psyche to help you better understand how and why people think the way they do.

    Course highlights:

The main highlight were the different lobes of structures of the brain and how they work together. I also learned that severing the corpus callosum (the line between the two brain halves) can stop constant seizures, but hinders abstract thinking because the two brain halves can't communicate with each other anymore. This was interesting to me because I plan to be a chemical engineer or a bioengineer in the future.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure that you do your homework on time or even early if you can so you have more time to study for the weekly tests. Take notecards and create an outline with diagrams from the book for each chapter to help you organize better.
