    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP Language is an extremely valuable course. Through the course, I have learned how the words used in everyday life influence the national audience. I have learned how to influence people to take my point of view. I have learned the methods of convincing and achieving. I think that AP Language can take me further than any course I will take in high school.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course include the analyzing of car commercials, which really opened my eyes to just how engineered the content we see has become. I also enjoyed the segment on argument essays as it took all the information about influencing we had learned and showed us how to use it in our own speech.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give to students considering this course is to start looking at the media and look at what marketing teams do to make their products more appealing to consumers. The rhetoric used in commercials is especially useful as an introduction to the content studied in AP Language and Composition.

We learned about rhetoric, persuasive writing, and analyzing speeches. The highlights for me were the benefits of being able to write essays faster now.

    Hours per week:

    Advice for students:
