    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this class because even though it is a lot of work, you learn a lot. Mr. Huie, is one of those teachers that will teach you not so you get an A, but so that you understand things in a deeper level.

    Course highlights:

Mr. Huie teaches chemistry all while referring things to common day actions. For example, he will relate the pressure on a system to the pressure students feel taking an exam. For every topic he teaches in this course he has a metaphor to help you understand what is going on.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS do the readings he assigns. Do not just read, read and take notes. Then in class ask as many questions as time allows you. When he is giving lectures, pay close attention and write down notes. He will always assign half a chapter for one night and the next day give a 45 minute lecture on that reading.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is very challenging and forces you to think critically. The teacher, Mr. Robert Huie, makes it a point that you as a student should not only know how to do the Chemistry he teaches, but you should understand it and be able to explain it to others.

    Course highlights:

I am currently taking this course and a highlight is the pride you feel when you understand a topic that many tend to struggle with. Not only have I learned much of what there is to know even on a college level, but Mr. Huie effectively places real life scenarios in his teaching style and successfully connects it all to not only teach you chemistry, but to also teach you a life lesson.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course, you must be prepared to use your brain and you must be accustomed to reading a lot. He does not baby you as a student.
