Background Knowledge Expected
This class was tough.
This course was amazing. I learned a lot of concepts about cell biology and molecular biology, as well as oncology and immunology.
My favorite part about the course was Dr. Grayfer's group presentation projects. Each group presented on a certain topic that is very relevant in the biomedical field, such as the relatively new CRISPR-Cas9 mechanism.

Advice for students:
Utilize the lectures that Dr. Grayfer posts on Blackboard. However, this alone will not suffice. Make sure you are taking notes as he is lecturing, for he adds little snippets of information that enhances your understanding of the topic and that will most likely show up on quizzes and the midterm/final exam. Also, it is very important to understand every laboratory experiment from the group presentations (in situ hybridization, Northern Blots, etc.). Finally, make use of the textbook. It's your best friend.
