Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The students that participated in the class greatly contributed to the enjoyment of the class, but Ms. Lawrence has shaped her class through the years in order to create an environment where learning is in the hands of the students and is a very enjoyable experience with every lab, assignment, and even her tests, in my opinion. Anybody who wishes to ultimately pursue a career in physics should definitely take her AP physics class, as it is an opportunity to take an advanced class with an amazing teacher, and adequately prepare for college in a fun, safe, and mutually enjoyable environment.

    Course highlights:

Throughout my time in the course, I learned a great deal about many basic physics concepts ranging from kinematics to force and energy. Honestly, the highlight of the course for me would be every day in class from the first day all the way to the last of the semester. Being in the class is a very enjoyable experience where I can learn in the way that works best for me without having to worry about impeding on somebody else's education. Rather than sit in class and take notes all period, Ms. Lawrence instead gives a few rudimentary comments at the beginning of class, maybe a formula or two, then sends us away to perform an experiment of some kind. It allows us to experience what an actual life in a scientific place would be like as a researcher, where you are performing experiments and working in areas where nobody has been before and there are no lectures or laboratory manuals or reference materials, and you have to discover everything on your own.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to work hard in this class. It isn't an easy class where you can just watch the lecture, work a few homework problems, pass the test and be just fine. This is a class where every bit of energy you waste and do not put into the class lowers your grade and performance drastically. Only the students who are ready to commit themselves to not procrastinate or slack off, to work their hardest to pass the course, will actually pass the course.
