Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class was awesome. Professor Jenkins, makes learning fun, interactive, and relevant; regardless of one's purpose for taking the class. Spanish 001 in Professor's Jenkins was a breeze, coming from a student who had very limited exposure to the language prior to taking the class I believe Professor Jenkins makes the process of learning a language a seamless one.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of taking the Spanish 001 course would definitely be the extra credit opportunities which allowed students to travel around D.C. or even on Howard University's campus to learn about Spanish culture around the world. I was able to attend museums, symposiums, panels, and festivals where I was able to listen to different kinds of music, try different dishes and indulge in Spanish/Hispanic culture.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

All of Professor Jenkin's assignments are necessary. They may seem tedious at first but many of the practices will reappear on exams, quizzes and finals. Always remember that learning a language is more of a habitual practice than anything which means practice makes perfect. Take advantage of the worksheets and reviews she hands out and if you are very serious about learning about Spanish culture and the language feel free to let Professor Jenkins know she is heavily involved in the study abroad opportunities for students studying Spanish.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who has to take Spanish I at Howard University. Whether you are taking the class just to fulfill a language requirement or because you genuinely want to learn, Profesora Jenkins makes the class very inclusive and enjoyable. She caters to various learning styles and being a learned Spanish speaker makes her teach from the a familiar perspective making her more relatable.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights of this course was the cultural knowledge I developed about various Spanish speaking countries such as: Spain, Cuba, Dominican Republic and more. This insight fostered my interest in studying abroad and the Spanish culture overall.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, study, study. Never be content with sort of knowing or understanding content. Spanish is a language used to communicate and should be treated as such. Take advantage of the assignments and exercises assigned, they make some of the most tedious parts of learning a language, seemless overtime.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I'd recommend this class because Spanish 1 is an easy course since it is for beginners. Also, Professor Murillo is very friendly and he feels like students are more than just a number/letter grade. He wants to see you succeed and achieve high grades.

    Course highlights:

I learned many things in Spanish including greetings and colors.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to pass this class all you need to do is come to class often, read the textbook outside of class time, practice on wileyplus, and pass the tests/quiz.
