I really learned what it takes to become a strong writer. You must learn how to analyze pieces rather than summarize.

    3-5 hours

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course to anyone and everyone. The emphasis on writing in this course is very intense, but it is so important and useful for much more than one could imagine. For me, it helped me immensely in my sentence structure and word choice, which, in turn, contributed to a higher score on my SAT reading and writing test as well as many other tests and subjects. I feel very prepared for college because I have this class under my belt.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were learning how to correctly compose an effective essay of three different categories: synthesis, rhetorical analysis, and persuasive. I learned what colleges look for, and how to be successful in writing an essay to help me frame my argument.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest staying organized and focused. Without the motivation or ability to counteract procrastination, this class will be tough. one must be willing and open to work hard to learn what needs to be learned. One would need to be able to stay on top of things and have enough self control to pay attention in class, complete homework, and practice their skills outside of class along with inside the classroom. I'd recommend practicing essay questions and multiple choice questions on the college board website to prepare for the AP test, and to start that as early as you can so that you are not last minute studying.
