    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it helps prepare people for the future. It works with your writing and reading abilities. It has you need difficult texts and then dissect it for figurative language. Then explaining different parts of the quote and the importance of it to the piece. The class challenges to people to stay on their work because it's difficult to catch up when you do fall behind.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were the Socratic seminars at the end of each unit. This was a way to look at everyone's opinion and discuss the texts that were read, the figurative language that we saw, and a way to connect it to our day to day lives. I learned that there is more to a text that just words. Each word, each sentence and each paragraph has a point it's trying to make. Then we take the time to look at texts, there are layers stacked on layers of figurative language.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

To be successful in this class it's important to keep up with the work that is given. Talk to your classmates, then go talk to your teacher, because you never know if they understand the information. Listen to what your classmates say inside the Socratic seminars because it would help with writing an essay later. Lastly, put the effort into the class for doing the work.
