Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Heid is an excellent teacher, both by helping you understand the material and pushing you to try the best you can, and also giving very good life advice. He prepares you in the best way to be successful on the AP test and understand what your learning.

    Course highlights:

The highlights for me were all the practice AP tests we took, because it showed me how much I had learned and how I was improving. Every time we learned something new was exciting, and even better when we took the test and I knew I had conquered the material.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

If you want to be successful, you have to put the effort in. You can't just show up to class everyday and expect to do well on the AP test. You need to go home and practice, even if it is just a little bit a day or every other day.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because Mr. Heid is an outstanding teacher who wants the best for his students and wants to see them succeed. He's one to fully explain the concept so his students know and understand what they are doing. He truly is a role model and is always helping you when you need it. He applies things so it fits for all different types of learners. Whether that is you being a visual, or a verbal, he always is finding ways and allows his students to pass his class especially with this being year round.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of this course so far is taking derivatives. Derivatives is something you build off from all throughout Calculus and is basically the stepping stones of it. Once you've got that down, be prepared to keep building off from them and add all sorts of things in there. Things I learned would be derivatives and how to take them. As well as using my trig functions and incorporating those into equations and such things.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give to have a successful year in AP Calculus would be that, if you aren't going to apply yourself and take the time to ask questions and work outside of class, you are going to struggle and not set yourself up for succession. You chose the class and are going to pay the price by doing the work. Don't give up when things are tough, work through it and eventually you'll get it. Memorizing and regurgitating isn't going to do you any good in this class. You've got to find a way for things to stick and if it doesn't, you're going to have to pay the price for it.
