    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is an interesting course that teaches skills and knowledge that will be useful for a public relations career, but for many other professional business careers, as well.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Largaespada is encouraging and offers guidance throughout the entire course. The course teaches how PR is usually a part of the company's efforts in marketing, advertising, branding, sales, and other ideas and situations that contribute to the company's public image. Or it can be all of those things. I thought the point of PR was to "spin the story" in the favor of the client but that isn't so. It is any worthwhile, honest agents job to be honest at all times.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Don't PROCRASTINATE! Be sure to spend the time each week to write substantial, informative posts early in the week. Ask for help from one of the many sources available, from the professor and your classmates. Visit tutoring.com, as its included in your tuition. If you need support of a more personal nature there is SOAR and then there is always your success coach. Lastly, do the two assignments that are due because they are worth a great deal of your grade.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is interesting and it gives a good look at public relations. It will be useful in other fields too, especially marketing. It sharpens your critical thinking skills. But don't slack on the two assignments. They are worth nearly half your grade!

    Course highlights:

I learned there is more to public relations than the spin on a news story. I'm aware of the fine line between marketing and PR and yet they can be the same. Earning credibility and keeping it is essential to great successes.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Don't procrastinate! Again, get those assignments turned in on time. Then if you've missed a few on a quiz or didn't reply to a discussion post, it doesn't hurt so bad. Reach out and ask for help if you need it. It's the professor's reason for being there and then there's the tutors, groups can offer support and advice and don't forget your success coach.
