Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Mr. Loell's class not only because he is a fantastic teacher, but he is a good man. He cares more than anyone about his students, is incredibly intelligent, and will help individuals learn according to their needs.

    Course highlights:

Mr. Loell has a fantastic sense of extremely dry humor. A great portion of the class is spent laughing, but not so much that it hinders the course. Also, you'll walk away from the class, and later realize that you learned much more than you even thought possible.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class, close attention, and take good notes. Do your homework, and try your best on it. If you are diligent about your work, then you are guaranteed success.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Although the workload may seem intimidating at first, you will come to realize that every assignment Mr. Loell gives you serves a specific purpose in furthering your rhetorical abilities, and you will certainly notice the improvement over time.

    Course highlights:

I am now able to create far more convincing arguments, and am able to defend my claims aptly. I also believe my sense of humor has improved slightly thanks to this class

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Give your best efforts on each essay, and actually read the books, even though Walden is not extremely engaging.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is amazing! It was the first AP class I ever took, and it is hands-down the best even now. Mister Loell knows his topic incredibly well, and his advice is always helpful. He teaches in a very fast-paced manner, and the course load is considerably heavier than most classes I've had, but everything he gives you, you learn from, and you progress significantly under him. Your essays become more succinct and direct, more polished and well-structured, and your multiple-choice skills increase very quickly.

    Course highlights:

The final project for this class was very enjoyable - it was a presentation on the book "Into the Wild", and I love to make power points. I learned so much about critical reading, too, and structuring arguments in writing, and how to deliver information in analytical essays. My writing improved not only academically, but recreationally, too! He tries to make the assigned reading interesting, and he himself is an absolute delight.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Before you sign up for this class, you have to be willing to put in a bit of time to do the homework he assigns you, to write a lot most nights, and to read when he puts a book in front of you. The course work is intensive but the final product is amazing. It's like a bootcamp for writing, and under him your AP grade will be greatly benefited. I ended up with a 5 on the test!
