    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to be in class as much as possible and utilize your textbook. Reading the textbook had a huge impact on my understanding of concepts throughout the course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course challenges one's intellect as well as being fun and exciting. Real issues pertaining to our bodies and world are discussed and explored more in depth than in any other high school course I've taken.

    Course highlights:

The most exciting concept that we covered was Evolution. It is a process happening around us right now, and it gives us insight into the conditions of the past, present, and even some aspects of the future. It explains why some diseases are common in certain populations, why we are what we are, and what may be in store for us (like the evolution of microbial pathogens).

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Try not to give up. The workload and amount of information is overwhelming at times, and extensive studying is needed to succeed on most of the tests. Once you adjust, the course is a blast with the labs, group discussions, and invaluable information that you learn.
