    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was a highly necessary class for any chemistry major. It laid the foundation for future chemistry courses and it helped to determine if you truly wanted to stay a chemistry major.

    Course highlights:

Most of the course was about learning important reactions and reagents when working with organic compounds. It helps if you work out step-by-step each part of a synthesis question, as it provides a logical succession as to how to form certain compounds from a specific starting material.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Get a whiteboard, find a list of important reactions, and draw out what would be the result of a compound going through that reaction. There are many online resources with practice problems that will help cement these concepts in your head.
