    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it takes a more in depth look of the United States. This class is for people who are bored with comp or honors level classes and need more challenge in their courses.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed learning about the Revolutionary war, as it saw America really come into its own against its oppressor, the British. It also has some of the most important dates that always pop up on the AP Exam, so pay attention!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The main problem I encountered in this class was memorization. I personally struggle with memorization small details, like dates or specific names. The way I overcame that barrier was associating those small details with something important to me in real life. For example, I remember the Boston Tea Party date (December 16th, 1773) because one of my friend's birthdays is on December 16th. I just associate dates with things in my life.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course because of the activities that differ from typical classrooms.

    Course highlights:

We learned about American history and how history shaped the culture of today's world. The course was especially intriguing during the later parts of the course due to activities we participated in. We had a reenactment of the civil war in order to quiz each other throughout the school day and also had a "speak easy" in order to learn about important figures during that time period.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The vocabulary packets are the most valuable thing during this course. Make sure to fill them out and keep them to study for the test at the end of the year.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's a requirement to graduate high school but if you take this course you can take it a year earlier. Not only should you take it to get it done with earlier, but you also have a chance at getting a college credit for it. Plus, Ms. Wilson teaches you in a fun way with plenty of fun projects.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the projects we had to do. There's a part in the class when we're learning about the roaring 20s and in that time there are speakeasies so we replicated one.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

You better be prepared for homework and tough quizzes.
