    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course, as it both fueled my interest in U.S. Government and Politics and educated me deeply on American history with the fun twang of David Olderman.

    Course highlights:

The most memorable moments of the class were the bizarre songs Mr. Olderman would show us regarding the moments of history we were currently learning about, which both added some fun to each class and taught us in a very interesting way about U.S. History

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you would like to succeed in this class, you should highlight your AMSCO and never copy off of anyone's homework. In addition, always complete test corrections and ask Mr. Olderman for help.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Not only do students learn about the history of our country, but David Olderman's passion for the subject makes class far more interesting than what it could be. He tells stories and gives elaborate examples which draw interest from the class. Most students who take AP US at Kirkwood pass the AP exam in May with the help of Olderman's nightly homework assignments.

    Course highlights:

AP US gave me more context as to why and how our country is at its present state. Having this knowledge under your belt makes understanding elections, the racial divide and the economy easier. In addition, the information learned in this course helps with other classes and subjects; I used a lot of AP US terms in essays throughout the rest of high school.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook, highlight the terms and study them nightly.
