Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP Calculus BC is a very hard class, don't get me wrong, but it's structure and level of difficulty truly prepare you for college work. It's one of the hardest math classes offered at a high school, but it's definitely worth the difficulty.

    Course highlights:

We started off in the course reviewing some Algebra II. Then after the review we dived into the world of Calculus BC where everything was trig-related or was something similar to Algebra II coursework. Everything that I have learned from my teacher so far will easily prepare me for college calculus.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course you must be prepared to do some homework. With any AP class there is always a lot of homework. The homework isn't too difficult if you understand the material, but if you do not understand it immediately talk to your teacher for help. On the basis of studying, I study a little over the material, but the most important thing to remember with this course is its multitudes of formulas and how you should use them.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to a student that can handle a larger course load. In Calculus BC we do two sets of curriculum, therefore we go at a much faster pace. By taking this course, I feel more prepared for college.

    Course highlights:

I learned that you have to be prepared to fail and know that you can learn from these failures. I also learned that I catch onto math curriculum faster than other students, therefore, I use time management to get other work done.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to know that this course is not for someone who does not want to learn. This course is a lot of work and you learn a lot during the year. If you are considering this course, ask your current math teacher if they think you will be able to keep up in the class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course is challenging, but very worthwhile. It enables you to gain up to 6 hours of college credit before you've even graduated high school!

    Course highlights:

From this course, I was able to learn the basics of calculus typically taught in AB calculus, which were then built on through the curriculum of BC Calculus. I learned about Riemann sums, derivatives, integrals, limits, and much more!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students considering this course to prepare themselves for hard work and a tough curriculum. Always take notes and keep old tests for reference!
