Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP Literature educates students on modern and classical literature. This creates a more well-rounded individual. In class, we read and analyze many novels and passages. Students analyze characters, rhetorical devices, motifs, themes, and so much more. This class is important to me because I believe that it is significant to be educated on all forms and times of literature. If English is my only language I want to be as educated on it as possible.

    Course highlights:

During the time that I have been enrolled in the course, I have already learned and improved my skills on analysis. Daily students in this course analyze characters or entire passages by terms such as the authors tone, underlying meaning, and any rhetorical device used. These skills will not only gaurentee that students pass the AP exam, but also that they will become more open-minded individuals after the course. Although advanced placement courses generally require more work and dedication, it is worth while.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Many students steer away from advanced placement courses, however, i encourage all students to try at least one. In my opinion, AP English is a great place to start. This course requires no difficult math skills and it does not require an exceptional amount of work outside of the class. During class students will have phenomenal discussions regarding the underlying meaning of essays and passages which teaches them to dig deeper. Students are taught not only to dig deeper into the passages, but in every situation in life. I encourage all students to try advanced placement english, and to strive while taking it. College credit is only one small benefit of such an influential class.
