    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class, while extremely tough, allowed me to become a student. I learned the importance of dedication to my studies and prioritization. The coursework was extremely tough and required at least two hours of attention every night; however, it not only amply prepared me for my AP test at the end of the course, but it also prepared me for a higher-level college class.

    Course highlights:

This course focused mainly on inorganic chemistry including, but not limited too, acids and bases, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and equilibrium. Not only did this course allow me to better understand how most of the world worked, it gave me the chance to be able to manipulate chemicals and elements so that I could make things work.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

It is extremely important to study every night. Studying may involve re-working problems, creating flashcards in order to memorize formulas, or reading the textbook and doing further research in order to learn the effects of specific events. However one chooses to study, it is quintessential that one does.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend taking AP Chemistry in high school because it provides an understanding for many other aspects of study. Chemistry explains a lot about the world as we know it. It also comes in handy in classes such as Biology and even Mathematics when doing word problems. It also provides students with a glimpse into a college level course.

    Course highlights:

I learned more in this class than any class I've ever taken. From learning basic elements of the periodic table to seeing real-world experiments done, this class taught me the "Why?" answer to many things I've never understood. I learned how to do many types of reactions experimentally, mathematically, and chemically. This experience was extremely valuable to my high school career.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the course seriously and learn as much as you can. Study thoroughly for AP exams.
