Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course teaches you about the very primary structures that makes up the human body which in cells, tissues, organs, systems, and then the whole body. It gets very interesting when we get to determine what disease a child would most likely get when we do a punnet square.

    Course highlights:

I learnt that through natural selection, that theory determines how likely a specie will survive or not based on it's appearance.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

With this course, there's an online mastering course that you can practice and learn information about a particular topic. There's quizzes, fill in the blanks, and matching. This can also prepare you for an upcoming test. I strongly recommend that you practice from the objectives. That worked out a lot better for me and other students who passed the class with an A.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a very difficult class, and it takes a lot of time to study and such, but Dr. Yount is also extremely well qualified to teach biology. Everyone has taken a class where the teacher is nice, but they're not very good at teaching; that doesn't apply here. The subject matter may be difficult regardless, but the professor is fair and goes over everything. He also provides easy access to the notes.

    Course highlights:

I honestly thought biology would be a breeze for me; the high school level was. The college biology class, however, goes so much more in depth. We learn s much, from basic cell structure, to genetics, it touches on anatomy and botany, it goes through the scientific classifications, and details about major domains and kingdoms. We also touched on chemistry with valence electron behavior, molecules in the body, and things like the Krebs cycle. It was refreshing, and quite the challenge.Much of the subject matter was valuable to learn as well as fairly interesting.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I would absolutely suggest buying the book. I know some people try to pass classes without a textbook, but his definitely requires it. Reading the sections before class is really useful too. The reviews are great and the examples make sense. I would also suggest trying to plan a schedule so that you have plenty of time to study. It's a great class, but it's definitely time consuming.
