Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Bio/Chemistry, two in one, but just as rigorous. Biology is a class you need in order to graduate in Maryland and Chemistry just goes hand in hand. Knock them out at the same time. Yes, one class counts for two quarters and the class period is doubled, but it’s worth it at the end. This allows you to move on to take more rigorous classes your junior and senior year while having the basics you needed to understand even the slight bit in the class. Stay focused and don’t be afraid to be wrong that’s what will give you a better foundation.

    Course highlights:

The labs were very helpful to getting a hands on idea as to what you would really do at a lab. Going into Biology right after a semester of Chemistry helped me in the long run. I didn’t know it then but when going into Biology I already had a foot planted into the basics of the class. Biology still educates on the basics of the periodic table but goes in depth into what they are and used for. Mitosis, proteins, translation, transcription, cell functions, polymers, monomers, they all sound confusing but when you take Biology and Chemistry in the same time frame you understand the subject well enough to move at a fast pace.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don’t be afraid to answer or ask questions, it’s okay to be wrong you will better understand the subjects when you are. Do your work, stay prepared and don’t stress on anything! If you don’t get it just ask for help nothing should stress you out.
