This class was tough.
I would totally recommend taking AP Biology, especially if you are interested in any type of natural science. This class covers a broad variety of subjects, from the molecular processes of the cell to the energy flow of a large ecosystem. It is fast paced, and the large amount of course material requires you to keep up with your work, but it also ensures that you never get bored by spending too much time on any one subject. While it is one of the harder classes you can take in high school, it is also one of the most rewarding as you will gain a greater understanding for the natural world around you.
I believe the highlights of the course were the in class labs. Rarely in school did I get to prove what I learned in class by seeing it and applying concepts to a physical experiment. The labs were mostly done in groups, and this helped me to learn how to work with others in an academic setting. The labs also allowed me to apply the scientific process of hypothesizing, using explicit procedure, and gathering empirical evidence.

Advice for students:
I would advise to ASK QUESTIONS. The course is very fast paced and at times I found myself lost. The best way I found to help this was to see my teacher at lunch or after school and ask questions and get help. Another thing I found helpful to prepare for the AP exam was to make flashcards based on old notes I kept, as the course is based partially on memorization. I also did practice free responses I found online, and this helped in taking the AP in May.
