    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The teacher is fantastic, his lectures are engaging, and the homework rarely feels like busywork.

    Course highlights:

Besides the daily lectures that were always engaging and often funny, the class had some amazing discussions. I learned tons of big themes and ideas in US History. The highlight was probably the 1880-1960 units because you could relate the historical conversation to modern history!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you always do the reading! Otherwise, lectures won't be as interesting bc you might be lost. And always go to office hours if you need help.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This has to be one of the best classes I've ever taken. The redesigned AP U.S history course has improved it by a monumental margin. The class isn't just lecturing anymore; there's so much integration of primary source material and whole group discussion. In all honesty, I am a huge history nerd and this is the kind of thing I live for. If you're the right kind of person who's outgoing, loves to contribute to discussion, and is a dilligent worker, this class is for you.

    Course highlights:

Definitely writing my junior thesis. Now hear me out here, how can a 16 page, 4500-word research monster be fun for a 16-year-old? How it made everything easier. I really learned how to take things step by step. There's a true intricate beauty to every notecard, every outline, and finally, one heaping pile of paper. It was probably the purest example of how hard work creates progress. This was my work, my words and they created the best (and longest) thing I've ever written.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! The workload is manageable if you plan. Don't save your ID's until the night before. Make sure to outline that essay and most importantly, read the textbook. Make sure that your ID's are diligent because let me tell you they go much farther than you think. Also make sure to save your work to study for the exam.
