    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would tell anyone who thinks they are interested in any type of science major from pre-medicine to criminal scene investigation. Learning hands on about what is happening inside you.

    Course highlights:

A highlight from this course was dissecting a cow heart and learning all of the different parts and how the blood is pumped through it.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not slack off on the work. It may be boring at times but the overall lesson is only comprehended by doing all of the work and on time in order to be prepared for the test.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I thought that this course was going to be more hands on with the medical side of things, like the basics of health care careers. I.e, blood pressure, basic checkups, how to take the pulse and heart rate of an individual. However, it is more lab based and focused on how to find diseases in the body and other things, such as, the structure of the heart.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics of DNA structure and how it is coded. I also learned the different types of blood and why you cannot donate blood to someone who has a different type than you. I was able to dissect a pig heart and test my knowledge on the structures of it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely take this course IF you plan to continue your studies in the PLTW program. If you are looking for an easy class that you don't have to work hard on- this is not the one. Yes, there are easy moments- but you definitely have to stick with the work and study for tests.
