Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was very helpful in deciding what I wanted to do with my college career. I was able to look at science in a different way and it helped me weed through what I enjoyed and I didn't.

    Course highlights:

It was more of an exploratory course into the realms of science. I learned a lot about energy and sustainable living, climate change, types of ecosystems, etc.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If the class is lecture based and you're a slow writer/typer, close the notebook or the computer and just listen. There's a lot of information and so it's better to pay attention and retain it, rather than worrying about writing down notes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Yes, I would recommend this course. This course is the perfect mixture of historical information, scientific and biological based systems, and facts that are relevant in today's world news and politics.

    Course highlights:

Since this course struck a chord with me, I re-learned many biological and chemistry lessons that would help me in later courses. This course was also not just a science course, but an ethics and politics course as well, as the state of the environment is a large topic being covered in today's news and events. These conversations that were started in this class have taught me to look at my role in the ecosystems around me.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course, a student should practice taking timed tests, as all of the tests and exams in Environmental Science AP are timed. Students should also make sure to read the material and study aids that are given with the class, as they can be very helpful if their is a particular topic that is difficult to you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is necessary to know about the environment and what us humans are doing to impact it. AP Environmental Science gives the students a new perspective and causes them to think about their actions and the affect it has on their planet.

    Course highlights:

Learning about alternative energy was the highlight of APES. Our energy sources are not the most efficient and are also limited, so learning about other viable options was great.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always always always study the small details in your notes. APES is full of general concepts, but it is the minor details that make the difference between an A and a B.
