    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The class was an immense intellectual challenge but, with hard work it paid off. I understood concepts that I would have never thought possible and prepared myself well for college.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of my course were cell respiration and photosynthesis. This is because everyday humans rely on these two cell functions and think its so simple, you breath in and out and eat. While it is actually very complex and requires a incredibly high functionality of your cells.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it only if you are serious about Biology. It isn't gonna be something that you will be able to pick up and class and understand it perfectly. But, it you do take it you will love it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It will help to prepare and over prepare you for college.

    Course highlights:

It is a challenging course but you will receive the opportunity to learn more about biology than you will ever know. Also it pushed you to generally do better in school. I fell that I became a better student after taking this course.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to be independent. You have to take the initiative to study on your own because if you don't then you won't be that successful in this class. Also don't slack of on assignments or procrastinate because that produces bad end results.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I wouldn't recommend this course to just anybody. This is the most rigorous course I have ever taken and it is actually 2 year course. However, I would recommend this course to anybody pursuing a Biology related field in college. In addition, this course will make you a better student and really push you.

    Course highlights:

I have gained so much knowledge by taking this course that will be useful in college. By doing this course, you design many original labs and then create a lab write up after. Many of my college friends that have taken this course said that by taking IB Biology HL, they are already at the top of their classes.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

My advice for anyone taking this course is that it is okay to fail at times. During my first semester of this class, I sometimes cried over my homework and cried when I received test scores back. It is extremely devastating sometimes because even when you think that you did your best to prepare, it still will not be enough. However, this feeling will pass and you will be glad you stayed with it. Many of the students that decide to take this course their junior year have never even received a B. During the first semester of this class, many of my classmates were so happy to have received a B.
