    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Not only was the class in an amazing environment with an amazing teacher, but my writing improved so much. I am also able to comprehend poems, novels, and other pieces much more thoroughly and in less time. Even in the midst of a challenging AP test, I felt that I was able to show my newfound knowledge pretty simply!

    Course highlights:

My favorite parts of the course were reading Pride and Prejudice, as well as Tale of Two Cities. Mrs. Strege made even the dullest or most confusing part of the novels understandable and fun to read! I also loved the class discussions because the environment of the classroom was so accepting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to actually read the novels instead of spark noting all of the time. Also, be sure to ask when you have questions, especially about the poetry unit. The tests are difficult so it's important to understand every concept!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because of all the different pieces of literature you are exposed to in such a short amount of time. The teacher of my course makes me feel more comfortable with my preparation for the end of the year AP test because of the multiple choice questions we do at the end of each week and the essays we do throughout the year.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course so far was reading a book of your choice from a certain list and doing a presentation on that book. I read 1984 and learned about totalitarian governments and the control they have over people's minds.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest staying on top of your reading and study guides when doing the reading to help yourself prepare for the final test or other presentations. This way you will feel less stressed out at the end.
