    This class was tough.

I would advise students considering this course to be prepared to do a lot of studying and to learn how to manage their time definitely with it being an Advanced Placement class and if they decide to do any extra curricular activities.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I have learned more in this class than any other class I have ever taken. Because of this rigor, I am now not only closely connected with the fourteen other people and the teacher of that class, but I have the ability to whip up a rough draft of a five paragraph essay in less than half an hour, and navigate college-level textbooks easily. If you wish to take a class that will prepare you for college, this is the one to take.

    Course highlights:

I primarily gained analytical, reading, and writing skills. Through this class, you learn how to analyze historical content in terms of: contextualization, change and continuity, comparing and contrasting, causation, and periodization. It has taught me how to be an independent thinker. After this, I can read a college textbook no problem, and write five paragraph essay in under thirty minutes. And, the essay will actually be organized, and make sense. It is especially fantastic when it comes to short-answer questions on tests. Before the AP exam, we actually met on Saturdays for a couple of hours to review, discuss chapters, and talk about current events or any questions we had. It was really fun! Biegner brought breakfast.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Do your homework - keep up with it, because it will be worth it. Learn how to be a history nerd, learn the progression of US history in terms of US presidents (it helps especially when it comes to timelines).
