    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

If you are excited about writing a lot of essays and getting lots of chances for points, without being seen as "below average" than AP English is right for you.

    Course highlights:

Plenty of work! In IB English there was too little work to boost grades. Plus it's not ideal if you do not want a two year course. AP English is a happy medium if you are above average and want to take the AP test. It is excellent prep.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Have fun with the synthesis essays because you will be writing a lot of them. Explore prespectives because original thought helps AP graders maintain interest and possibly get them to pay more attention to your writing.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is great in preparing the students for what college courses will be like. It focuses on reading so it's great for students who are bookworms and for students looking to expand their vocabulary. Lastly, the teaching methods are always very helpful for the students.

    Course highlights:

Although it was not the most fun part of the class, I gained a lot of skills by taking the AP lit practice exams. The practice questions always had words that nobody knew the meaning of, so it gave us a chance to not only expand our vocabulary, but also to learn how to better use context clues to figure out the right answer. These are the skills I have gained from this course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you set aside time every night to read because the entire course is about reading books. At some points you had to read an in class book and an outside reading book so make sure you have time for both. Don't use online sources like sparknotes in place of reading the book because you might miss something important to the novel.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking AP Lang because it isn't a hard class it just takes some time management and some effort to actually get the work done. My experience was great, my teacher had provided me with so much help, at some times she cared more about the students grades than they did. She genuinely wanted the best for her students.

    Course highlights:

I learned that thinking out of the box and taking a different route from everybody else will lead to success in AP Lang, within any English class. There's a lot of writing and the teacher does not want to read the same boring paper over and over, so giving them something to things about in your writing will be a big hit. Also, you do not have to have the most sophisticated words or correctly executed punctuation to get an A on a paper. That is exactly what I thought English was but it is isnt, it's about being original and what you write and as long as the teacher sees what you're trying to do then an A isn't to far away.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Actually read the books that you are assigned to reading, sparknotes and other "helping" websites will only give you broad information. If you need help, ASK FOR IT!! Once a teacher sees a student reaching out for help they will be more than happy to do so. A teacher does not like a student that complains about the class but doesn't do their work nor asks for help when needed.
