    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course gave me a glimpse at how a college level English course is ran. English has never been my best subject but, AP Language helped me realize what I needed to improve on before I entered college.

    Course highlights:

I loved having Mr. Beneke as a teacher, he made learning fun and was never afraid of telling you how it is. Throughout my high school career all of my English teachers sugar coated things so I never really learned how to become a better writer. Mr. Beneke, along with the course AP Language, did what no other English class has done, help me improve my writing ability so that I will be more confident when I walk into my college English classes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not freak out when you receive a bad grade on your first paper. Many people in my class, including me, had never gotten a poor grade on any English assignment because we were not held to a very high standard. AP Language raised the bar of what was expected of us and allowed us to improve our writing in order to meet that new standard.

    Course highlights:

Mr. Beneke is hilarious and gets students engaged in learning English.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read your book. Always do the work.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it really prepared you for the AP test at the end of the year. We went over all the essays you needed to know and when it came to the test we all knew what to do. She explained well and the lessons were easy to understand.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot throughout this course. You learn how to do all of the three essays that are on the AP test and just other questions that you need to know. Some highlights were learning reading the books and doing book tests. I like to read and the book tests weren't to bad.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

When taking this course make sure you stay on top of things. When you know you have to read a book for the next book test don' procrastinate and try to read the book three days before the test. That will stress you out. Just plan your time out. Work hard in class and don't play around when the teacher assigns things so that you will be prepared for upcoming tests.
