    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this class as it is curiosity driven and shows you how the world works on a molecular level. You'll never look at nature the same way again.

    Course highlights:

I gained lab experience and was challenged to truly understand chemistry in a way I never had before.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, study, study! Knowing the basics will really help you to understand bigger concepts later on. The more you learn, the more you'll see topics connect.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to students who are willing to struggle in order to maintain the information. This class is challenging, fast paced, and requires extra time and effort outside of the classroom. However, if a student pays attention, asks questions, and genuinely puts in the work they will be successful.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were my teacher and the labs we conducted. My teacher Mr. Hemmingsen pushed me beyond the limits I thought I had. He wasn't willing to hand us the information; he made us work in order to understand the material on a deeper level. At the time this was frustrating and at times sparked tears in my eyes because I did not understand. Looking back this method of teaching forced me to find the answers myself which made it easier to remember the information long term. The labs were also extremely valuable. Not only were they enjoyable and interesting but they related back to what were learning and made it easier to understand the current topics.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give to students taking this course would be to pay attention and do not get behind. I have always been a dedicated straight A student who did not always have to put hours upon hours of study time into a class in order to succeed. This is not a class that someone can breeze through without putting in effort. You do have to study and you might have to come in for tutoring. It's okay it doesn't mean you're not smart. It means you are responsible enough to put in extra time to make sure you understood the information. I strongly advise future AP Chemistry students to stay on top of the work load and ask for help when they need it.
