    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP Chemistry is a difficult course. It opens eyes to how the world works while at the same time preparing students for college.

    Course highlights:

One of the main highlights was participating in the labs. In doing so, I applied the knowledge that I had recently learned in class to the real world. One of the most interesting things that I learned was how cold an atom can become. An atom naturally has energy and cooling is the process of removing that energy. The cooling process can never reach complete zero, and I learned that in certain labs they cool atoms down to one billionth of a Kelvin (another heat measurement). Once the atom reaches that temperature, it is not any of the three states of matter, but in fact it is in a state that is currently unknown by mankind.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Prepare for the AP test at the end of the year while at the same time absorb any chemistry knowledge that is taught. This class will help significantly with any future science courses as it chemistry is the foundation for all science.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP Chemistry is an in depth experience of chemistry not for the faint of heart. If you are confident in your study habits and information retaining then it's worth the course.

    Course highlights:

The studies in class that analyzed the chemistry within a battery were truly intriguing. Not to spoil anything, but a non explosive battery is going to be the next big thing.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the AP packets even if they're optional. Form a study group and understand every element before you move on. Book work is honestly the best place to get information explained if class and notes aren't comprehensive enough. If you need to know each segment indivisually to be successful than read the chapter.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this class as it is curiosity driven and shows you how the world works on a molecular level. You'll never look at nature the same way again.

    Course highlights:

I gained lab experience and was challenged to truly understand chemistry in a way I never had before.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, study, study! Knowing the basics will really help you to understand bigger concepts later on. The more you learn, the more you'll see topics connect.
