Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it changed the way I look at teachers. I have gained a lot more respect for them and I am grateful for everything they do. With this class, I have learned how difficult leading a classroom can be, so I appreciate teachers more than I ever have.

    Course highlights:

One of the highlights of this course is the expectation to be responsible and capable of leading a classroom discussion. I have learned to be a better leader, and the components of what goes into being a teacher in a classroom setting.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice would be to always listen to what your classmates have to say and respect them. The discussions make up a lot of time spent in the class, so it's necessary that every student is willing to share their thoughts and opinions, as well as being attentive and respectful to others'.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Everyone should take political science because it is real world issues that all students should know. Everyone needs to understand politics because those issues are relevant to the world we live in.

    Course highlights:

I learned about how the election process works, what the process of making a law is, and the difference in political parties.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Everyone should take this. It was easy for me because I love politics, but even if you don't necessarily love politics these are still relevant issues that all students need to understand before being on their own in the real world.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I love this class because it is a block class with only 14 students. We spend a lot of time together and I have gotten really close with everyone in my class. We also teach six graders about staying substance free. We lead by example and are substance free the entire year.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this class include getting to teach. I have a group of 15 sixth graders who I teach every week. We have a variety of lessons from drugs, bullying, and assertive skills. I have learned a lot about psychology and how drugs effect a persons brain.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students to alway prepare their lessons ahead of time. Sixth graders have very short attention spans and they really like getting up and moving, so try to incorporate games and activities into your lessons.
