Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for anyone who is interested in going into the medical field. You preform real tests that doctors do and it gives you a good insight on what you are expected to do.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of doing this course was doing labs. They helped better understand what we were learning. They were also really fun to do.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Some advise that I have is to get the work done in advance. Also, use the study guides for tests. This class required a lot of work but it's not hard work. It's very time consuming but the end result is worth it.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is the first of four classes, the last one being an internship. Anybody can take this class, you don't have to want to go into the medical field. This class explores jobs like crime scene investigation, genetics, and blood spatter analysis, and we actually do the tasks the professionals do. PLTW classes use hands-on tactics set up in a college class format. If anything, take this class because it can prepare you for college work.

    Course highlights:

The most valuable part of this course is the experience we get in labs that most high school students don't get until they get to college. We use lab grade equipment, and explore many careers that have to do with biomedical sciences. I learned about careers I had never heard of before, and could be a possibility for my future job.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you can, try to get certified. PLTW classes give you the option for a certificate if you take two of the biomed classes, and pass the AP test for either biology or chemistry (Get at least a 3). When you are actually taking the class. Try to do the small assignments in the recommended time frame, otherwise you'll be doing piles of work the day before it's due. If you actually pay attention and do the work, it's hard to not get an A in this class.
