    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course material is amazing, you truly get to know so much about how the human body operates. This was the first true course where I was extremely challenged and was able to apply the concepts and mechanisms that I learned back to a relatable way.

    Course highlights:

I learned all the biochemistry concepts that I was taught. It really was a challenging course but it taught me how to really study for a challenging class and I even changed how I normally studied from studying alone to studying with a group of classmates and friends. If you're looking to go into medical school this is a course that you must take seriously and try your hardest in.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book! It truly helps in explaining mechanisms and how things work in a lot more detail than the professor went into but that is how I truly grasped the material. You also want to take really good notes in class because he will say things that won't be on the powerpoint but will be on the exam. SI is a must! Please go to this because it will reinforce everything you learn on your own and will solidify concepts and mechanisms.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The power points were not as thorough as the tests. Hard to do well on his tests. I recommend going to his office hours and reviewing the tests and having him explain why an answer was wrong. Try to learn what he expects by what he is asking. Be expected to derive very complicated information, from a few hints given along his power points.

    Course highlights:

I think the subject is fascinating as a whole. It is the logic of biology. It is why nature behaves the way it does. I learned why some reactions will happen and how others have very little chances of proceeding. Knowing this, allows us to manipulate nature to receive a desired effect. I think its the bases of drug design and genetic design.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Go to his office hours. Study his power points in great detail. Go to his TA's and SI's office hours. Record his lectures. Review his past exams, learn the layout of his exams. Email him when confused on a topic. His tests are very personalized to what he is presenting, reading the book might help. But, do not spend to much time on the book because he might not expect you to know that specific of the material.
