Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Harris will give you a new perspective on not only yourself but humans in general. This course only scratches the surface but will show you why societies function the way they do and how they cultures are very alike and yet different in many ways.

    Course highlights:

At the end of the day, we're only human and all we have is each other on this planet. Therefore aside from our differences we have to help each other. At some level, all cultures are connected in ways that we'd never consider, from when and how we clean ourselves to how we choose a mate.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Professor Harris' lectures are very entertaining and he will keep your attention throughout. But, this sometimes makes it hard to key on when to take notes, so pay attention to anything he repeats more than once.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This is the course that helped me choose my major. It is such an interesting course to learn about the society we live in and how it was before we lived in it.

    Course highlights:

This course teaches you about not only why our society works the way it does, but it ties in race, ethnicity, feminism, etc. This course is great for incoming freshmen who want to explore their options while still getting in the credits that they need.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class and take notes! The class is relatively easy but going over your notes before quizzes and exams will help your grade so much. The professor is also very helpful, don't be afraid to go up and introduce yourself.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course because I believe it portrays itself as interesting to all people. This class teaches various cultures; how and why different people do different things. And as a plus, the class provides most students with a newfound appreciation and respect for other cultures.

    Course highlights:

Taking this course taught me the many different ways religion, family, diet, gender roles, etc. work in other cultures. As Americans, we sometimes become so involved in our way of life. Taking Culture and Society allows you to take a step back from our everyday culture, appreciate and learn alternative ways of living life. It changes the way you see yourself, your life, and your future.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read the chapters and read over the power point presentations given in class. Every bit of information is available online, and I highly recommend you make yourself familiar with all information given to you, especially before the test. Key terms are important to know, and when writing papers, you should cite many sources; not just one or two. Overall, if you pay attention and make sure you know and understand the material, you can easily pass the class; and hopefully learn something as well.
