    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is an introduction to the beauty of architecture. It covers renowned architects and their work, philosophers, environmental topics, ethical decisions, all of which relate back to architecture. It truly helps students determine if architecture is the right major for them.

    Course highlights:

I learned that architecture is not just about designing buildings. Architecture is a unique world that gains inspiration through the world, people, natural surroundings, and culture to create a deeper meaning for existence. Architecture infer Pilates the voids of humanity.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Even though the class is at 8am every Friday morning, attend the lectures. It is so nice to sit back and relax and soak in Michael Lucas's thoughtful presentation relaying the importance of architectural practice.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Being that this course is required of all first-year architecture students, I would recommend viewing this class as the very foundation of everything else you will learn as an architecture student.

    Course highlights:

This was the first "real" college class I took as a first year. That meaning it was a class you didn't really want to go to and was hard to stay awake in, but it is one that is vital to your survival in the rest of college. I learned from this class the discipline it takes to be a successful college student with the new-found freedom of being on your own, making your own decisions - including going to class or not. I also learned, what I was supposed to learn from this class, the essential ideas of architecture and architectural expression through form, light, and space.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise paying as much attention as you can, because the ideas given in lecture are ones that you will be talking and thinking about for the rest of architecture school and your architectural practice. I will also advise talking a few notes and do the readings, as these will help you do the essays that are due at the end of the quarter.
