    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Christopher Carr teaches you applicable information needed in everyday life. Legal matters are avoided, but are most likely inevitable. With this course, legal issues such as tort law, contracts, and start-ups are taught with specific examples such as Judge Judy clips, or Shark tank references that really help understand the concepts. Everyone enters into a contract whether clicking "I accept and I agree" on iTunes every one in a while, or signing on the dotted line when buying a house. One must know the implications and issues that might arise when dealing with these contracts, and all the clauses that are found in them.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was when we learned about the different forms of business entities that one can start. As a business major, entrepreneurship is always an option, but more importantly, anyone can start their own business. I found it extremely valuable to learn about the different routes one can take when starting a business whether it be a sole proprietorship "ma and pa" shop, or a full blown corporation with double taxation. All options are important to know.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This course is reader heavy, but they are extremely interesting readings. If one puts in the time to study and take notes on the reading, this class will be very manageable. Also, listening to the lectures can only do so much, but taking notes on the videos and writing down the slides helps one retain the information better, thus allowing success in the course.
