Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course because it really teaches you that there is more to the fashion industry than just pretty clothes, there is a whole mathematic background that makes, retail, production and design all possible. The math is easy to do once you understand the formulas and you can really see how it is applicable to real life.

    Course highlights:

The profit loss statement was really the backbone of this course. This incorporates formulas regarding expenses, gross profit, sales, etc. We also learned a lot about the different types of markup and travel charges.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you understand everything the day you are taught it, everything in the class builds so if you don't understand something it will be really difficult to move on. Practice the profit and loss statements in the back of every chapter each week to keep it fresh in your mind.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course will set you up for the capstone course- Fashion Merchandising. It is the backbone of being a buyer in my opinion. This is where you will learn any math skill or formula you will need as a buyer.

    Course highlights:

Some things you will definitely master are markups, profit margin, and net income. You will start to distinguish a difference between terms like Gross Profit, Net Income, and Revenue. It is not a difficult course if you pay attention in class and apply yourself.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice makes perfect. Things can easily be forgotten so practice 15 minutes a day.
