    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

If you are interested in the Fashion Industry, this class gives a great overview of history through the ages. The professor had been a buyer at a high-end corporate fashion company and had a lot of insight into the industry culture.

    Course highlights:

We learned about how history affects fashion. For example, how women's skirt hemlines got shorter during WW1 because they needed the extra fabric for soldiers' uniforms. And during a depression, lipstick sales go up because it's a cheap way for a woman to feel pretty during hard times.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

It's an easy course if you come to class, do the readings, essays, projects, and study for the tests. The readings were very interesting and I learned a lot about different trends. I would recommend students to pick a decade of clothing to study that interests them as you will study that decade in-depth.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class for anyone really interested in the history of fashion. The professor had been a buyer at a high-end retail corporation and was very knowledgeable of the industry culture.

    Course highlights:

I learned about fashion over the decades and how history affects trends. For example, skirt lengths were made shorter on women during World War 1 because they needed the fabric for the soldiers' uniforms. Likewise, lipstick sales go up during depressions because lipstick is a cheap way for a woman to feel good about herself.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

This class is easy if you attend the classes, take notes, keep up on the essays, and study for the tests.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It is a introductory course which i am sure of is a requirement for almost all programs of study.

    Course highlights:

Very interesting course and the work is very easy. You get to learn a lot of background information about the fashion industry as a whole, so be ready to learn a lot of general knowledge about the many facets of the industry.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    - Do the readings! There are a lot of information you need to remember for both exams, especially the finals since it is cumulative. It will be easier to remember information if you actually did the readings. - Every class we talk about "current events" so read up on the news on social media or wwd.com so you can talk about it in class and gain participation points. - Be prepared to take notes because the powerpoint will not be downloaded online, and there are a lot of information on the slides.
