    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because you get to learn a great deal of information about the fashion industry through advertising and also about different industries and how they use advertising and promotion to get their products to sell.

    Course highlights:

One of the highlights about the course was our individual project when we had to research celebrity endorsements and how they made the campaign more successful.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Advertising and Promotion was an interested and highly relevant course that is essential for all Advertising and Marketing Communications student especially, but any business major in general as well. In this class we learned everything about how companies effectively support their brand through advertising, marketing, integrated marketing communications, and more.

    Course highlights:

AC111 covered a vast array of subjects and I left with confidence that I understand the basics of how to effectively promote a brand or products. There are many terms and processes that are utilized in the advertising world and this class effectively teaches you the ones that you'll need to know. I learned about the various types of advertising, how they're done, what makes them effective, how to measure their effectiveness, how to change them based on the results and also based on the changing environment and competitors. This was definitely a very useful class and I learned a lot.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

This course is heavily based on memorization of key terms and processes, so reviewing these terms is essential. Many of the course material is stuff that you as a target customer/viewer have already been exposed to, it's just putting a name to it and viewing if from the perspective of the advertiser (instead of the target) that this course does for you.
